Not Losing? What Can You Do?
What to do when the weight just won’t come off
If you have begun our Stay Fit MD weight loss program and still aren’t dropping pounds, the following may be causing your lack of weight loss:
Starving yourself and/or not eating protein
Since our products help manage appetite, some people simply do not eat if they don’t feel hungry. But our program’s goal is to raise your metabolism rate, so if you don’t eat, your metabolism quits working. You must eat normal meals to remain metabolically active and burn fat. Eating small meals more often is even better than consuming fewer large ones.
Proteins like those in lean meat, chicken or fish are best because half of their associated calories are burned during digestion – speeding up your metabolism even more. All people – and dieters in particular – need a minimum of 10 to 12 ounces of protein daily, so don’t restrict your diet to just salads or vegetables. Even though these are beneficial, they will not boost your metabolism. Remember: Eat to lose! If your body goes into starvation mode, it begins to stockpile fat to replace missed meals.
You don’t drink an adequate amount of water
Water flushes fat from the body, so you need at least six to eight glasses each day to flush out fat and toxins. Drinks like soda, tea or coffee do not eliminate fat.
Taking our products incorrectly
The time of day you take our weight-loss supplements is critical. For example, if you’re hungry in the morning, take the products before breakfast and lunch. Many find they need to control hunger at lunch and dinner, so they should take their product before lunch and again late in the afternoon. Let your body tell you when you need to take it. However, we recommend you do not use weight-loss products after 6:00 p.m., because you may experience problems falling asleep.
Improper dosage
Everyone is chemically diverse, so dosage amount will vary. Also, to make their products last longer, some people attempt to take fewer supplements than they need. A better way to approach this is to begin with a lower dosage amount and increase the amount if you are not losing weight. If you’re not hungry and begin losing weight, you have reached the correct dosage.
A “slow” thyroid
Your thyroid affects metabolism, and slow thyroid function often goes undiagnosed. A slowly functioning thyroid is often found to be the cause for overweight people, with more than 20 percent of the overweight people having an under-active thyroid. If you are adhering to our guidelines and still not losing weight, ask your doctor to perform a thyroid test. The test will pinpoint a possible thyroid condition that may require medication.
Allergies to food
Many people react negatively to certain foods or food groups. Allergies, intolerances and sensitivities to food are three unrelated food reactions that can negatively affect your health and ability to lose or maintain weight. Severe food reactions may even cause death.
Signs of food intolerance include indigestion, nausea, rashes and sinus obstruction – and inability to lose weight can be another indication. Simple food sensitivity tests can be performed by your doctor or an allergist. Stay Fit MD recommends that you undergo such testing to determine the foods you should avoid. As many as 200 ingredients that can trigger allergies, but the most serious reactions are caused by:
- Nuts
- Milk
- Fish
- Strawberries
- Wheat
- Peanuts (legumes, not nuts)
- Eggs
- Shellfish
- Soybeans
Your prescription may slow your metabolic rate
Many drugs will slow down your metabolism, especially hormone-based drugs like estrogen, progesterone and some anti-depressants. If you continue to experience problems losing weight, talk with your physician.
The less fat/more muscle phenomenon
A diet rich in lean proteins rebuilds muscle while it eliminates fat. Your body will be smaller, while the scale shows you weigh the same. So it’s important to pay attention to lost inches more than lost pounds. Plus, when you add exercise to diet, which is highly recommended, you build lean muscle, so you’re losing inches faster than pounds.
Please note that all Stay Fit MD products adhere to the “Good Manufacturing Practice” standards of the FDA.
